BioRrrruff! My name is Keigan (pronounced "Kay-gone"), and I'm a guide dog puppy in training to help the blind. I'm keeping this journal to tell you all about my adventures and exposures, triumphs and fears. Come on in and see what my day's been like!
Here's a little bit about my name:
It's actually Japanese, and is written like this:
-->The first kanji is pronounced kei ("kay"), which is the ON (that's "oh-n" not "ah-n" like a light) reading, or e (think of the beginning sound of "air"), which is the KUN reading.
-->The literal meaning is equivalent to two words in Japanese: 1)satoi and 2)kashikoi. Satoi means "sagacious; hardheaded; practical," and kashikoi means "wise; clever; intellegent."
-->The second kanji is pronounced gan ("gone") for the ON reading and gen for the KUN reading.
-->It means "eye; eyeball."
-->Together, my name literally means "wise eyes." It can be translated as "keen eyesight" OR as "keen insight."
